WWII Laundry Mark Search Database is now available

Hello All,

I have developed a search database on my computer that includes every WWII Army Enlistment Record from 1938-1946 (All 8,706,394 Regular Army Numbers). Because of this database, it is now possible to use a "Laundry Mark" (First Letter of Veteran's Last Name)+(Last four of their ASN) to search for a veteran. An example of this would be:

Robert Smith - ASN: 12345678

His laundry mark would then be S-5678

Once I have completed the search, I will then email to you a list of every veteran that is a match from the WWII Enlistment Records. It is very tedious and time consuming to use the NARA AAD Website ( http://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-list.jsp?cat=WR26 ) to find soldier's based on their last four using "wildcards" and this system I've devised is MUCH faster.

Granted, I cannot tell you precisely what veteran your uniform, helmet, field gear, ect belonged to as this would be impossible, but what I can send to you on the Word Document (Or a simple list through the forum's personal message system if needed) will be the matching veterans' full names, full serial numbers, year of birth, and State of Residence when they enlisted.

A last name with a less common first letter (such as "Z" or "X") will return considerably fewer results making it easier for you to compare the men's names with a unit roster, an awards list, a unit history, or a Guide to the General Orders. A last name that begins with the more common "R" or "S" will return more veteran results.

*Note The files in my database are the same enlistment files that the National Archives and Ancestry.com have. If the veteran's number is missing from those it will also not be included in the search results returned to you from me. I have yet to create a search database for the National Guard issued ASN's also, those results will not be included in your results, but I may be able to help you search through those. Officer's Serial Numbers are also not included on this (unless they marked

Please contact me for more details on how I can help you! I have assisted several forum members already since creating it with some surprising results (Including a confirmed ID!)

I look forward to hearing from you all!
