9th Infantry Division Silver Star Medal Recipient

Capt Jesse L. W-H-E-E-L-E-R was born in Virginia in July of 1922. He was commissioned in July of 1943. He served in the 39th Infantry Regiment in the 9th Infantry Division. He rose to the rank of Colonel having served in the Vietnam war as well as an advisor. During WWII he was awarded the Silver Star Medal (H.Q 9th Infantry Division G.O. No. 7, 1945) and 2x Purple Heart Medals.

He passed away in 2018 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery
